When? The gates will open at 16:00 Wednesday January 5:th and close at 14:00 Sunday January 9:th. Electricity and network will be shut down at 12:00 the closing day.
Where? The LAN will be situated in "Galaxen" in Edsberg, 20km north of Stockholm. This is the same venue as QH-LAN #3, #5 and #6.
How to get there You can see some maps right here.
There will be official tournaments only in QuakeWorld, and possibly wrestling.
We will sell the usual range of soft drinks, energy drinks, fast food and other LAN necessities.
The LAN is in the middle of Edsbergs centrum, so you have burgers/kebab/hot dogs/pizza etc as well as an ICA Supermarket, ATM etc within one minute walking distance. Sollentuna centrum is about 3km (10 minute bus drive) from the event.
If you're planning to visit us from abroad, contact The Crew for more info on how to get here, or if you need to be picked up at the airport/harbour.
If you can't bring your own monitor we can provide one for you for the small fee of
€ 11 or 100 SEK.
The monitors are 17" with enough capacity for gaming.
To book a monitor, send a mail to crew@qhlan.org with your nick and the request and we'll put you on the list. As for now, we have enough monitors available for renting.
If you desperately need a 19", we might be able to get some of those.
The entrance fee is 300 SEK / €34. More info on that at sign up page.
Foreign visitors can pay at the door and still prebook a seat if they talk to an admin about it. It's helpful to us if you can prepay anyway, but we understand it might be enough of a hassle getting here anyway.
The width and depth of the tables are: 180x80cm, two people will sit at each table. That means you get 90cm width and 80cm depth, and since there is some space between the tables as well there's plenty of room even with a 21" monitor.
If you like sitting a bit higher, it's a good idea to bring an extra pillow or something for your chair.
Every guest gets ONE electricity outlet; so remember to bring your own branch.
Each user may consume max 1.25A current. This is more than enough for a normal computer, but it's not enough for your computer and microwave ovens, water boilers or other high power equipment. There will be public microwave ovens; no need to bring your own.
If you have special needs concerning this, give The Crew a mail.
The network will be configured for DHCP. You will get a 10/100Mbps port. Every table's switch is connected with gigabit links to our backbone.
DCS.NET sponsors us with 100Mbit/s connection to Internet. Sollentuna Energi provides us with the local connections in Sollentuna.
There will be a dedicated sleeping hall where it's dark and quiet, just remember to bring your sleeping gear.
There are parking lots ~100m from the event where you can park for free during the entire event.
There are toilets at the venue. We'll try to get access to showers closer by this time... failing that there's always the public bath 800m away where you can shower for free.
There will be a spectator area with bigscreens where you can watch the games.
We will of course broadcast games over the internet via qizmo chains.
We also aim to have commentators for the most interesting/important matches.
